Visit by the Chargé d' Affaires, Embassy of Peru
The National Archives was pleased to welcome Mr. Raúl Daniel Loarte Ruíz, Chargé d' Affaires, Embassy of the Republic of Peru for a tour of the archives on 25 April 2024. With a background in history, Mr. Loarte Ruíz, was able to learn first hand of the work of the National Archives, including its conservation and digitization work.
He gifted the Government Archivist, Ms. Avril Belfon, with a copy of an archival document which recounts early commercial activity between Trinidad and Peru, as well as a publication on the art of Torre Tagle, an art collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru which now occupies the early 18th century Torre Tagle Palace in Lima.
Also present were Permanent Secretary, Ms. Kevar Williams of the Office of the Prime Minister – Communications and Mrs. Roma Wong Sang, Senior Archives and Records Officer of the National Archives.
