Commemorating International Archives Week 2021: Tracing Indian Ancestry through the eyes of Archives

In commemoration of International Archives Week and Indian Arrival Day, the National Archives is pleased to partner with the National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago to present our Indian Indentureship Collection. This collection includes records over 100 years old that identify thousands of our Indian ancestors. Genealogist Shamshu Deen will share useful tips on how to use the archives to trace your family history.

Nelson Island, which was the immigration depot for the arrival of the Indian immigrants from 1866-1917, is a listed heritage property under the control of the National Trust.
